They include sessions on business ideation and business pitch practice, allowing volunteers to strategize with our EITs both in small groups and one-on-one. Business Coaching Nights are wonderful ways to connect with like-minded volunteers and empower EITs on their journeys.

Purpose: Defy's EITs (Entrepreneurs In-Training) will pitch their business ideas to a group of judges for admission into our year long Business Incubator. If they are admitted into the Incubator, they will then receive advanced coursework in entrepreneurship and business management, as well as support through the process of incorporating, launching, and growing a new business. Volunteers at the event will provide feedback and business advice to the EITs as they gear up for the next step in their entrepreneurial journey.

We are kicking off a holiday event to support our EITs returning to their communities. As many of you know, those first hours and days out of prison are fragile and overwhelming. We want to be a lily pad, a soft landing, for our EITs when they come home. One of the easiest and most tangible ways we can support their reentry is a “Go Bag”. These bags are small kits with essentials that will help them navigate through their first weeks.
